Foster Care & Adopted Students

Students who are currently or were formerly under the conservatorship of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS), including those adopted from DFPS, may be eligible for a tuition and fee exemption.

To determine your eligibility, contact the Department of Family and Protective Services and request Form 1810: DFPS Verification of the State College Tuition and Fee Waiver. Current or prospective Victoria College students should refer to the right-hand column under ‘Contact Us’ to identify the appropriate DFPS staff representative who can assist with verifying and accessing the tuition waiver.

Once you obtain your Form 1810, submit it to the Payments Center, located in the Student Success Center (#13 on VC's campus map), so the tuition waiver can be applied to your eligible semester(s) of enrollment.

Foster Love in partnership with Victoria College offers financial support and scholarships for college students with foster care experience. Contact VC's Foster Care Liaison, Christy Henry at [email protected] or (361) 582-2578, to learn more about available support services.

Whether you need academic assistance, career guidance, personal counseling, or financial support, we offer a wide range of student support services to help you succeed both academically and personally.
