CARE Team Members Include:

• Vice President of Student Services, Chair
• 2 Faculty Representatives
• Chief of Police
• Director of Advising & Counseling
• Case Manager 
• Licensed Professional Counselor

• Identifying students of concern who are in need of extra support
• Assessing the most appropriate way to intervene and support a student
• Addressing student behaviors that impact our community
• Intervening so a student may achieve academic and personal success
• Balancing the needs of an individual student with the needs of the community

To refer a student to the CARE Team, please fill out the Early Alert and Intervention Referral Form. This form is not for emergency situations.

• The student shows significant change in behavior or mood
• Student appears sad or depressed in a manner that may suggest intervention is needed
• Student makes suicidal remarks or attempts
• Student’s emotional response is highly unusual and/or exaggerated or their behavior appears highly disturbed
• Student has submitted disturbing written material or has made threats; direct or indirect (e.g. references to guns or punching walls near someone in an intimidating/threatening fashion)
• The student makes threats or displays aggression directed toward themselves or others
• Bullying behavior focused on students in the classroom and/or online
• The student’s academic or social performance declines
