Victoria College home to first Workforce Pod in Texas

Victoria College is home to the first Workforce Pod in Texas, providing students with convenient access to career exploration, job opportunities, and workforce resources directly on campus through a partnership with Workforce Solutions Golden Crescent.

Located on the first floor of VC’s Student Success Center, the Workforce Pod is a secure, self-service kiosk that connects students with Workforce Solutions resources and staff without requiring them to leave campus.

“The Workforce Pod is designed to support students at various stages of their career journey, whether they are exploring career pathways, researching employment opportunities, or preparing to apply for jobs,” said Bobby Cubriel, VC’s Director of Advising, Counseling, & Support Services.

Students can use the Workforce Pod to connect directly with Workforce Solutions staff via video chat, search for regional job opportunities, explore local education and training providers, and complete a career assessment to match their interests with potential occupations.

“Workforce Solutions Golden Crescent is excited about the opportunity to partner with Victoria College in making workforce services more accessible to students,” said Henry Guajardo, Executive Director of Workforce Solutions Golden Crescent. “This interactive Workforce Pod essentially brings a virtual American Job Center directly into the college environment, providing students with a convenient, private, and flexible way to connect with workforce resources when it fits their schedules.”

Students who use the Workforce Pod can also send job opportunities and career information directly to their cell phones, allowing them to review and complete job opportunities and applications when it’s convenient for them.
