Racheal Walker Wilkinson, Associate Professor of Psychology at Victoria College, has been named the recipient of the 2026 Distinguished Teaching Award, the highest honor presented to faculty by the Victoria College Foundation.
Wilkinson, who also serves as VC’s Faculty Senate President, joined the college in 2014.
The Distinguished Teaching Award honors excellence in the classroom, promotes effective teaching, and recognizes faculty who demonstrate exceptional dedication to student learning. Wilkinson was nominated by her fellow faculty members for the award.
“It is an incredible honor to receive the Distinguished Teaching Award and to be recognized for work that has been at the heart of my career for the past thirteen years,” said Wilkinson. “I truly love teaching and believe the influence we have as educators reaches far beyond the content we teach. To have my commitment to students recognized in this way, and to join the exceptional educators who have received this honor before me, is especially meaningful, and I am truly grateful.”
Wilkinson was recently recognized at VC’s Fall Convocation, where she received a $1,500 award and a medal from the VC Foundation.
