New agreement streamlines transfer pathways between Victoria College and Texas State

Victoria College has entered a new articulation agreement with Texas State University designed to strengthen and streamline transfer pathways for students pursuing bachelor’s degrees.

Texas State University in San Marcos is a popular transfer destination for VC students, ranking second for dual credit transfers and third for traditional student transfers, following Texas A&M University–Victoria and Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi, respectively. The development of this articulation agreement has been underway for several years and is expected to impact hundreds of students.

“This agreement represents an important milestone in our ongoing efforts to create clear and seamless transfer pathways for our students,” said Dr. Jennifer Kent, VC President. “We recognize that our students transfer to a number of universities and regardless of where they go, it is our job to ensure their classes transfer easily. As our second-highest transfer university, an articulation agreement with Texas State University helps students move forward with confidence as they pursue their academic and career goals.”

The agreement offers several benefits aimed at reducing barriers and improving degree completion for students transferring to Texas State. It includes steps that will make it easier for students to transfer completed core coursework from VC to Texas State and create pathways for VC Honors students to join the Texas State Honors Program.

Programs included in the agreement include Health Sciences, Exercise and Sports Science, Education, Animal Science, Chemistry and Music.
