VC graduates 15 cadets from Law Enforcement Academy

Fifteen cadets from Victoria College’s 107th Law Enforcement Academy Class were honored at a graduation ceremony on Dec. 10, at VC’s Emerging Technology Complex.

Richard Stavinoha was named class valedictorian, and Daniel Pawlik received the John Baylor Award for Outstanding Achievement. The award, named in honor of the former Victoria Police Department officer, is given to the “most outstanding student” as selected by class instructors.

The Abel Arriazola Award was presented to Mary Comstock-King. This honor, selected by fitness instructors, goes to the cadet who showed the most heart and effort in every workout.

VC offers two academies each year – one in the fall and one in the spring. Graduates who complete the program are eligible to take the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement examination to become licensed peace officers in Texas. VC also offers an Associate of Applied Science degree in Criminal Justice that prepares students for an entry-level position in the law enforcement field.
