The next Empty Bowls event will be held February 8, 2026
Victoria College’s Empty Bowls event raised $20,000 to combat food insecurity in Victoria County.
The event, held annually in February, resulted in more than 300 attendees purchasing a unique handmade ceramic bowl for $20. Every bowl is created by local potters and VC art students. Each purchase included soup, bread and a drink donated by area restaurants and caterers.
Proceeds from the event have been donated to the Food Bank of the Golden Crescent, Christ’s Kitchen, Victoria Christian Assistance Ministry, Meals on Wheels South Texas, and JP’s Market at Victoria College.
“Empty Bowls continues to highlight the importance of coming together to make a meaningful difference,” said Empty Bowls Team Lead Angela Weaver. “Thank you to all of the volunteers, potters, restaurants and sponsors who made this year's event a success.”
