Museum of the Coastal Bend at Victoria College
The community is invited to explore the history of France during the “Vive La France!” exhibit at Victoria College’s Museum of the Coastal Bend, March 28 through May 1.
Vibrant student artwork created by St. Joseph High School Fine Arts students will be on display in the museum’s East Gallery. The original art explores France 200 years after explorer René-Robert Cavelier, Sieur de La Salle, landed on the Texas coast. Students based their art on the French Impressionist style of the era, which focused on capturing moments of light, color and atmosphere.
The Museum of the Coastal Bend is located on VC’s Main Campus at 2200 E. Red River St. in Victoria. The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is “pay-what-you-want.”
