Victoria College’s Museum of the Coastal Bend will host a special lecture, “Victoria College’s First 50 Years: A Story in Images,” on Thursday, Feb. 20 from 12:15-1:15 p.m.
The lecture is part of the Stormont Lecture Series, named after John W. Stormont, who served as Victoria College Dean alongside President J.D. Moore beginning in 1949.
Dr. Karen Hagan, VC History Instructor, will explore the circumstances that led to Victoria College’s founding in 1925 and growth through the years. An exhibit featuring artifacts and a pictorial history of VC’s first 50 years, coordinated by VC's 100th Anniversary Faculty Subcommittee, will also be on display in the museum's East Gallery.
The lecture is free and open to the public. Hot chocolate and refreshments will be served.
The Museum of the Coastal Bend is located on VC’s Main Campus at 2200 E. Red River Street in Victoria.
