Victoria College EMT, respiratory care students cross train in trauma simulations

Victoria College’s Advanced EMT and second-year Respiratory Care Program students recently teamed up for trauma simulations, giving them an opportunity to practice critical thinking, communication skills and patient care while cross training.

Advanced EMT students practiced assessing patients, providing treatment and communicating with hospital staff while transferring patients. Upon arrival, the two teams practiced hand-off communication while moving patients from EMS equipment to hospital equipment. Respiratory care students then began providing treatment.
