Victoria College’s Respiratory Care Program was recently presented with the Distinguished Respiratory Therapy Credentialing Success Award by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) for a fifth year in a row.

“We are honored to yet again receive this award,” said Ceci Oldmixon, VC’s Respiratory Care Program Chair. “The dedication of faculty, clinical instructors and our clinical partners as well as our students in the program is by far one of my favorite things to witness.”

Victoria College previously received the Distinguished Registered Respiratory Therapist Credentialing Success Award in 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and now, 2023, for credentialing success of 90 percent or more of its students.

CoARC uses objective criteria based on key accreditation metrics documented within each program’s Annual Report of Current Status to select recipients for this recognition.

The Respiratory Care Program at Victoria College offers a two-year Associate of Applied Science degree. Successful completion of the program enables graduates to take a series of national board exams to become registered respiratory therapists.
