What are the membership options and costs?
The Academy of Lifelong Learning offers flexible membership choices:
- Fall Enrollment – $80 (covers Fall, Spring & Summer)
- Spring Enrollment – $55 (covers Spring & Summer)
- Summer Enrollment – $20
Discounts are available for VC employees/retirees and Museum of the Coastal Bend members. Discounts cannot be combined.

How will I receive updates and reminders?
Members receive regular email communication through Constant Contact including:
- Monthly registration forms
- Weekly event reminders
- Special announcements and trip details
To ensure you receive these messages, we must have a valid, current email address on file.
If you need to update your email address, please call the ALL office at (361) 582-2520.
If you are not receiving regular emails, please reach out so we can troubleshoot and make sure your address is correct and unsubscribed status, spam filters, or other technical issues are resolved.
Do I need to wear my name tag?
Wearing your name tag is encouraged for networking and safety. Emergency contact information is printed on the back. New name tags will be ready for pickup before classes held at the ETC.
Class Registration & Policies
How do I sign up for classes?
All course details—including locations, times, fees, and registration deadlines—are listed in our schedule. Payment is due at the time of registration.

When does registration open each month?
Registration opens on the following Tuesdays at 9 a.m.:
Jan. 27, Feb. 24, Mar. 24, Apr. 21
What is the refund policy?
- No refunds are issued for ALL membership dues.
- Class fees may be refunded up until the registration/payment deadline listed in the schedule.
- Refunds are issued via check within two weeks.
What is your guest policy?
- Each member may bring one guest per semester to one class, with or without a fee.
- Guests attending paid classes must pay applicable fees at registration.
- Guest registration is required at least one day before the class. Guest forms are available in the office and on the ALL webpage.
How do waitlists work?
If a class is full, you may join the waitlist. Members will be contacted in order as spaces become available.
Are class end times exact? Are class sizes fixed?
Class end times are estimates and may vary.
Class sizes may also change based on demand, room availability, or instructor needs.
Class Logistics & Attendance
Where are most classes held?
Most classes are held at the Emerging Technology Complex (ETC) on the 3rd floor.
Specific room locations are listed in the schedule and displayed on monitors near the elevator.
What should I do when I arrive for class?
- Check in using the class roster
- Pick up any handouts or forms
- Arrive a few minutes early (staff is available beginning 15 minutes before class)
- Enjoy common spaces such as the breakroom, Room 301, and hallway seating
What happens if Victoria College is closed due to weather or emergencies?
If Victoria College closes or delays opening, ALL classes and activities are canceled.
Travel Opportunities
What travel opportunities are available?
- Day Trips: Details are emailed to registered participants a few days before each trip.
- Domestic & International Travel: Offered year-round through Collette. Travel programs are open to the public—ALL membership is not required.
Feedback & Conduct
How can I provide feedback or suggest new classes?
Member feedback is highly valued! Surveys are sent throughout the year, and members may share suggestions directly with the ALL office at any time.
What are the Respectful Learning Guidelines?
Members are asked to:
- Be respectful and kind
- Engage positively
- Care for shared spaces
- Respect class time and building protocols
- Celebrate diverse perspectives
- Practice courtesy (silence phones, minimize side conversations)
- Support a safe, inclusive environment
- Have fun and enjoy the ALL community
