Graduation

Before applying, make sure you meet all graduation requirements:

• All required coursework completed or in progress
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0
• At least 25 percent of coursework completed at Victoria College
• All financial, academic, and administrative holds cleared

It is best to apply for graduation as soon as you are registered for your final semester courses. This allows time to make any necessary updates or corrections. If you are unsure about your eligibility, contact your academic advisor before submitting your application.

All students must submit a graduation application by the published deadline. This application is required to complete your degree or certificate and to begin the final review of your academic record. It also allows you to confirm your diploma mailing address, the spelling of your name, and any Victoria College associations for recognition.

After submitting your graduation application, you will receive an update on your graduation status within two weeks. This notification will be sent to both your Victoria College email account and the personal email address listed on your application.

Important: If you do not meet graduation requirements during the term listed on your graduation application, you will need to submit a new graduation application for a future term.

Graduation is the academic process used to confirm that you have met all requirements to receive a certificate of completion, certificate, or degree. Students must apply for graduation to notify the college that they are nearing completion. Submission of the graduation application is required whether or not you plan to attend the commencement ceremony.

Commencement is the formal ceremony held once each year in May, following the Spring semester. During commencement, graduates are recognized for their achievements by family, friends, and Victoria College faculty and staff. Students who complete their programs in August or December are invited to participate in the Spring commencement ceremony.

Commencement details are updated each academic year as planning is finalized.

Attendance at the commencement ceremony requires submission of the RSVP that will be sent the week following Spring Break. 

Do I have to attend commencement to graduate?

No. Participation in commencement is optional. Students must apply for graduation to complete their degree or certificate, regardless of whether they attend the commencement ceremony.

Are a cap, gown, and tassel required to attend commencement?

Yes. Graduates participating in the commencement ceremony are required to wear official Victoria College regalia, including a cap, gown, and VC tassel.

Will honors or associations be recognized at commencement?

Yes. Eligible academic honors, cords, stoles, and Victoria College associations will be recognized during commencement.

When will I receive my Spring 2026 diploma?

Diplomas are issued after final grades are posted and graduation audits are completed. Participation in commencement does not affect the timing of diploma delivery.

The Office of the Registrar will begin conferring graduation audits the week of May 18, and the process typically takes approximately two weeks to complete. Once diplomas are ready, graduates will be notified by email with pick-up information. Diplomas not picked up within the deadline will be mailed to the address listed on the graduation application.

Victoria College has also partnered with Parchment, which provides graduates with free, permanent access to a high-resolution digital diploma. This digital copy can be shared with family, friends, employers, or on social media. At the end of the semester, graduates should expect an email and text message from Parchment with instructions on how to access their digital diploma.
