A Message from the President

A Message from the President Dr. Jennifer Kent, VC President

Election Day is Saturday, May 6, and I want to remind you that Victoria College’s bond election for the construction of a new Student Success Center is on the ballot.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday.

If you have already voted, thank you. If you are a registered voter in Victoria County and have not voted, I hope you will take a few minutes to educate yourself on VC’s bond election by visiting VictoriaCollege.edu/Bond23.

Victoria College has committed $26.6 million – or nearly three-fourths of the total project cost – in grants, gifts, and institutional funds. VC’s Board of Trustees is asking voters to consider the $10 million bond issue to fund 27 percent of the project. VC plans to begin construction this fall and complete it in time for our 100th anniversary celebration in 2025.

Depending on the precinct in which you live, you may have additional items on your ballot. You can view sample ballots and polling locations at VCTXelections.org.

How you vote is your choice, but I do encourage you to exercise your right to vote and make your voice heard in this election and all elections.

Sincerely,

 Dr. Jennifer Kent
Victoria College President
