Victoria College’s Museum of the Coastal Bend, located at 2200 E. Red River Street in Victoria, will hold its inaugural Salsa Contest on Sept. 16.
Victoria College’s Museum of the Coastal Bend will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month by hosting its inaugural Salsa Contest from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 16.
Victoria College employees are eligible to enter a salsa in the contest, and the public is invited to judge the entries. The tasting will begin at 4 p.m. The top three salsas will be announced at 7 p.m.
“We are depending on the palates of the community to determine our champion,” said Greg Garrett, the museum’s experience educator. “The museum invites everyone to get involved and help us determine the best salsa in the Coastal Bend.”
The first-place entry will receive a $50 gift card to Ventura’s Restaurant. The second- and third-place entries will each receive $10.
Light refreshments will be served. Music will be provided by DJ Luis Sabor.
The Museum of the Coastal Bend is located on Victoria College’s Main Campus at 2200 E. Red River Street. The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Admission to the museum is pay-what-you-want.
