A Pipefitting Level 1/2 Combo course and Plumbing Level 1 course will be available at Victoria College starting this month.
Victoria College is offering pipefitting and plumbing courses to start in September.
A Pipefitting Level 1/2 Combo course will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays, Sept. 21-Feb. 8 from 6 to 10 p.m. The course is a beginner/intermediate study of pipefitting and combines certifications for both Level 1 and 2. The cost for the course is $1,200 and includes all materials. Successful completion of the course leads to National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) certification.
A Plumbing Level 1 course will be offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Sep. 22-Dec. 17 from 6 to 10 p.m. The course provides an introduction to the plumbing trade, safety and tools. Successful completion of the course leads to NCCER certification.
All pipefitting and plumbing classes are held at VC’s Liberty Street Industrial Training Center located at 1404 N. Liberty Street in Victoria.
Students must first successfully complete the Core Curriculum: Introductory Craft Skills course before taking the Pipefitting Level 1/2 Combo course and Plumbing Level 1 course. Core Curriculum: Introductory Craft Skills provides an introduction to basic safety, construction math, hand tools, power tools, blueprints, rigging, communication skills and basic employability skills. The next Core Curriculum: Introductory Craft Skills course is scheduled for Mondays and Wednesdays, Oct. 5-Nov. 4 from 6 to 10 p.m.
Due to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommendations, students will be required to wear a facial covering, have their temperatures taken and pass a health screening before entering the classroom. Social distancing will also be required.
