Victoria College recently announced 19 Spring 2020 graduates from its Vocational Nursing Program at VC’s Main Campus.
The graduates are Jennifer Carpenter, Isabel Garcia, Isabel Garza, Yanet Martinez, Jimmy Nguyen, Aaron Raught, Jazmin Sanchez, Stephanie Sanchez and Katie Staff, all of Victoria; Destiny Gordon, Brasia Holloway and Ronicka Scott of Wharton; Jayda Barton and Hannah Gohlke of Port Lavaca; Claudia Cruz-Cervantes, Dustin Nguyen and Nathan Nguyen of Seadrift; Stephanie Gomez of Goliad; and LeAnna McDonald of Edna.
“We are extremely proud of these students who overcame unprecedented challenges during the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic to graduate from the program,” said Joyce Harper, Victoria College VN program chair. “Most of the graduates have been rewarded for their commitment by already finding jobs in the nursing profession.”
Victoria College’s Vocational Nursing Program is a 12-month certificate program offered on VC’s Main Campus and in Cuero, Gonzales and Hallettsville. The program is fully approved by the Texas Board of Nursing.
Successful completion of the program enables students to take the National Licensure Exam for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN). Satisfactory achievement on the exam qualifies students for licensure as a vocational nurse.
