VC’s Stormont Lecture Series continues Feb. 6 with ‘The Texas Freedom Colonies Project’

Andrea Roberts Andrea Roberts will speak on “The Texas Freedom Colonies Project” on Feb. 6 at Victoria College’s Museum of the Coastal Bend.

The Spring 2020 John W. Stormont Lecture Series will continue on Thursday, Feb. 6 at 5:30 p.m. with Andrea Roberts speaking on “The Texas Freedom Colonies Project” at Victoria College’s Museum of the Coastal Bend.

Roberts is an assistant professor of urban planning and associate director of the Center for Housing & Urban Development at Texas A&M University. She is the founder of The Texas Freedom Colonies Project, which is a research and social justice initiative documenting place-making history of African Americans.

The event is free and open to the public.

The Museum of the Coastal Bend is located on Victoria College’s Main Campus at 2200 E. Red River Street in Victoria. The museum is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is “pay-what-you-want.”
