CORPUS CHRISTI – Corpus Christi Moody forward Devin Neal signed a letter of intent to play basketball at Victoria College on May 22.

The 6-foot-2 Neal, a first-team All-District 30-5A selection, averaged 17.3 points and 8.2 rebounds per game last season for the Trojans while also making seven 3-pointers.

“Just having the opportunity to play at a higher level is what excites me the most,” Neal said. “It feels great. I feel like it’s God’s plan, so I will take advantage of it and make every moment count.”

Neal said he was inspired by his mother, Cawana Clay, to pursue basketball as a youngster.

“I didn’t even like the sport,” Neal said. “But she saw the potential in me and told me to try it out.”

Victoria College will begin competing this upcoming season in Division I of the National Junior College Athletic Association.
