Pregnant & Parenting Students

To request assistance, please complete the Pregnant or New Parenting Students Form in the Pirate Portal.

1. Login to the Pirate Portal
2. Click "Student Home Page"
3. Click "Pregnant or New Parenting Students Form" link under the "We've Got Your Back" section
4. Complete the form

Lactation spaces are available by request through Title IX Coordinator, Terri Kurtz.

In compliance with SB 412 protections, students who miss class for reasons related to pregnancy, childbirth, or resulting medical issues will be allowed 

• to make up missed assignments or assessments, 
• additional time to complete assignments in the same manner as is allowed for a student with a temporary medical condition, and
• access to materials and recordings or lectures for missed classes.

Students needing an incomplete-leave of absence (I) for parenting issues or pregnancy-related problems may receive up to 120 days to complete course work.  Students requesting an incomplete-leave of absence should communicate this need to their instructor(s).  An incomplete-leave of absence not completed within the date noted on the agreement form will be changed to an “F” or “UF”.

We understand that unexpected situations can arise, such as a child's illness. To minimize disruption to your studies, please reach out to your instructor promptly to inquire about alternative attendance options, such as a WebEx session.
