According to the Pew Research Center, the Hispanic population is one of the fastest growing ethnic or racial groups, accounting for most of the US population growth. Between 2010 and 2020, the Hispanic population grew from 50.5 million to 62.1 million, a 23% increase.
During that same period, in Texas the Hispanic population also had the most growth, increasing from 9.5 million (37.7%) in 2010 to 11.7 million (39.9%) in 2020. In Victoria County, between 2010 and 2020 the Hispanic population grew from 44% (38,254) to 48.6% (44,329).
As Victoria College enrollment has grown over the last twelve years, we are proud that our enrollment reflects the true changing face of Texas, with Hispanic students representing 48% of our total enrollment.
