Victoria College’s Workforce & Continuing Education Department will offer a “Genealogy: Moving Ahead with Family History Research” course from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays from March 6 to April 6 in Room 308 of the Conference & Education Center at VC’s Emerging Technology Complex.
The beginner’s course is created for amateur family historians interested in learning how to correctly and systematically research and document ancestry. Topics will include how to access genealogy sources such as census records and court documents.
Each student will gain personal genealogical guidance. The class will travel to Houston’s Clayton Library Center for Genealogical Research on April 6 to complete the course. Martha Everman Jones, retired Victoria College instructor and local genealogy teacher for more than 20 years, will instruct the class.
VC’s Emerging Technology Complex is located at 7403 Lone Tree Road in Victoria.
