Nine students recently graduated from Victoria College’s summer Nurse Aide class.
Nine Victoria College students received certificates recently for completing VC’s summer Nurse Aide class.
The students completed 50 clinical hours at local nursing facilities and are eligible to take the Texas Nurse Aide Registry Examination.
Earning certificates were Joanna DeLaFuente, Holly Leal, Shonna Sciba, Jade Vela, Sophia Montemayor, Shelby Clayton, Corie Connell, Gabriel Casarez and Brenda Garcia.
Victoria College’s Allied Health Continuing Education Department will offer nurse aide classes at two locations this fall.
The classes will be held from Aug. 31 to Nov. 16 at Victoria College’s Main Campus and from Aug. 28 to Nov. 1 at VC’s Gonzales Center. The fall classes at VC’s Main Campus will be held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 to 9 p.m. in Room 107 of the Allied Health Building. The fall classes at the Gonzales Center will be held Monday through Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. in Room 201.
The cost for the course is $635 and includes books. Scholarships are available to help cover a portion of tuition. Pre-registration is required, and the deadline for registering is one week before the class start date.
Nurse aides are utilized in home health, hospitals, nursing homes, schools, doctor’s offices, adult day cares, assisted living facilities and other facilities.
